Daily rainfall through June 22.  Central Jilin (the most important crop area) had normal rainfall through mid-June and heavy rain since then.  Cool weather in April slowed germination and crop development.  Warmer weather in May favored rapid growth.  Cooler temperatures accompanied recent heavy rain.
